Christmas Cards

Sir,—A few years ago. your contributor, “Whim Wham” wrote “I need an extension ... on my mantelpiece to carry the Christmas cards.” The predicament of “Whim Wham” and of others could be avoided by using the Post Office postcards. Surely the message signed by the sender is all that matters! Let us save the weariness of choosing cards, consideration of the extra expense, and the suitability for the recipient of the design as well as the message. I think I am correct in stating that only a very small proportion is afterwards put to any worth-while use—Twelfth Night soon comes.—Yours, etc., CARD WEARY, December 21, 1964.
