HEDGE FIRES AT AMBERLEY
Brigade Saves Barley Crop
Quick work by the Amberley Volunteer Fire Brigade prevented a hedge fire destroying a field of barley on the property of Mr S. J. Blackburn on the Main North road on Sunday afternoon. Only about three-quarters of an acre of the barley was destroyed before the blaze was extinguished. ■ The brigade also extinguished a hedge fire on the property of Mr E. Arthur at Broomeld at 9.15 a.m. on Saturday.
