MORE DOWN THAN UP

(New Zealand Press Association)

AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Many yachtsmen spent chilly moments in the sea today when a blustering wind, gusting up to 40 miles an hour, played havoc with yachting on both the Waitemata and Manukau harbours. Club patrol boats had a busy time rescuing "crews and towing away upturned boats. At one time off Weymouth this

morning there were more boats capsized than were upright. Six boats capsized during racing off Glendowie this morning. P class yachts and Moths suffered the same fate during the Ilowick Yacht Club’s races this afternoon.

The police launch Deodar made several mercy trips. There were no reports of any injuries.
