OF AGRICULTURE SEED CERTIFICATION CANTERBURY Growers are reminder that MONDAY, NOV. 16, 1964, is the CLOSING DATE for entries into the Department’s Seed Certification Scheme for the 1964-65 Season of the following crops: Barley, Borre Lupins, “Grasslands Apanui” Cocksfoot, New Zealand certified permanent pasture Cocksfoot, “Grasslands Paroa” Italian Ryegrass (New Zealand Italian Ryegrass), “Grasslands Ruanui” Perennial Ryegrass (New Zealand Perennial Ryegrass), “Grasslands Manawa” Ryegrass (New Zealand Short Rotation Ryegrass), “Grassland Kahu” Timothy (New Zealand Timothy), “Grasslands Huia” White Clover (New Zealand White Clover), “Grasslands Ariki” Ryegrass, Lucerne, Oats, Phalaris Tuberosa Ryecorn and Wheat. In addition, areas sown in the Autumn 1964 with “Grasslands Ruanui” Perennial Ryegrass (New Zealand Perennial Ryegrass) Mother seed and since January 1, 1963, with “Grasslands Huia” White Clover (New Zealand White Clover) Mother seed will be eligible for entry into the scheme provided tags identifying the seed sown can be produced at time of entry or verification of the origin of the seed can be supplied from Merchants' records. The produce of these areas will be eligible for classification as standard seed subject to satisfactory field inspection of the crops and also to the seed complying with the minimum purity and germination standards of the Department. The new nomenclatures recently adopted by the Grasslands Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to Identify its bred varieties of grasses and clovers followed by the previous known name in parenthesis have been used above, where necessary, in describing crops eligible for entry. An official entry form should be completed for each crop entered or re-entered for certification and forwarded to the nearest office of the Department accompanied in the case of first year entries by sufficient insert slips to cover the total quantity of seed sown in each area. No fees are payable on entry, but late entries, if accepted, will be subject to a fee of ten shillings (lbs). 2412 PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL RUBBISH COLLECTION THERE will be no Rubbish Collection on Friday, November 13.
