S.I. Skeet Title Won By Morton
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 6. After weeks of excellent weather, conditions deteriorated for the opening day of the South Island clay target shooting championships at Dunedin today. The heavy overnight rain was followed by strong winds which blew the targets at irregular heights, making possible scores difficult to register. In the skeet championship of 25 targets possibles were registered by R. H. O. Hynds (Tauranga), W. T. Morton (Christchurch), A. W. H. Walker and H. C. Walker (Hakataraniea). The shoot-off was won by Morton, with 23 breaks. The two-man teams championship, was won by the Waikato representatives, Hvnds and W. L. Brinkworth (Hamilton). The five-man teams championship was won by South Canterbury. The wind was at its worst for the double rise championship of 20 targets. None of the field of 56 shooters could manage possibles, best scores of 17 being returned by A. J. C. Donald (Otahuti) and F. G. Lewis (Timaru). A fivepair shoot-off was won by Donald. Results:
