TOUR “UP IN AIR”

Did Not Get Call (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 2. The proposed New Zealand tour of top American Olympic Games athletes is “up m the air,” according to Mr C. A. Blazey, who has been negotiating the tour for the New Zealand Amateur Athletics Association. A telephone call he had expected from Sydney today had not come through and this had left the situation unresolved. The Americans moved from Sydney to Melbourne tomorrow. “Whether I get a call from Melbourne, I don’t know,” Mr Blazey said. “At this stage it would appear the tour is unlikely, but I don’t know any more than that.” The Americans involved include three Olympic Games medallists, Bob Schul, F. Hansen and H. Carr, and two silver medallists, J. Thomas and R. Boston. If the tour eventuates it will bring the greatest team of concentrated quality ever to come to this country.
