Parliament’s Diary

Fifteen bills were read a third time and passed when Parliament resumed yesterday morning. There were: the Christchurch City Reclamation and Empowering Bill, the Administration Amendment Bill, the National Military Service Amendment Bill, the National Provident Fund Amendment Bill, the Decimal Currency Bill, the Continental Shelf Bill, the Forests Amendment Bill, the Medical Practitioners Amendment Bill, the Poisons Amendment Bill, the Family Benefits (Home Ownership) Bill, the Workers’ Compensation Amendment Bill, the Health Amendment Bill, the Fisheries Amendment Bill, and the Social Security Amendment Bill.

Bills put through their committee stages were the Cook Islands Constitution Bill, the Cook Islands Amendment Bill, the New Zealand Council of Law Reporting Amendment Bi’l, the Companies Amendment Bill, and the Immigration Bill.

The Education Bill was reported back by the Education Committee.

The Maori Purposes Bill and the Perpetuities Bill were read a second time. The Sale of Liquor Amendment Bill was being discussed when the House adjourned till Tuesday.
