Cricket Targets

Although the cricket season has barely begun, several senior players in Christchurch have attained personal milestones which may have seemed a little distant during the winter months. Among the batsmen, B. F. Hastings, G. T. Barrett and D. Hill have now reached totals of 2000 runs in senior championship matches. K. Priest of Sydenham has taken his wicket-keeping dismissals to 105, thus equalling the figure attained by the famous J. N. Fowke. Priest is a young player, and can with confidence set his sights on the Sydenham senior record of 142 dismissals, held by H. A. King.

Of the bowlers, N. F. Curtis (Old Collegians) passed 100 senior wickets in a rush; J. H. Dawson has reached 200 wickets, and so has A. C. Timpson (West Christchurch-University).
