The Akaroa batsman, T. Rhodes scored 103 against Walnut In the -Banks Peninsula Cricket Sub-association’s senior competition on Saturday. His fine innings helped Akaroa to gain its outright win over Walnut, the only complete victory of the day. Tn the other games. Little River beat Le Bons on the first innings and United beat Kaltuna, also on the first Innings. Detailed scores were:— Little River 193 for seven <W. Coop 84, L. Lanauze 30: C. Grigg two for 52, P. Johnson two for 85) defeated Le Bons 171 for nine declared (L. Inwood 28, M. Wright 29, C. McKay 20, T. Johnson 29, J. Devonshire 22, J. Meyer 18; F. Templeton three for 28, B. James three for 7). United 229 for four <D. Marshall 48,1. Plummer 72, C. Blakie 63: B Beach two for 11) defeated Kaltuna 193 <D. Turner 38, R. Allen 48, E. Turner 30; I. Plummer two for 27). Akaroa 193 IT. Rhodes 103, P. Cook 26. M. Johnson 31; J. Palmer three for 19, K. Inwood two for 33) defeated Walnut 73 (K. Inwood 22: M. Johnson three for 21, J. Carrodous five for 21) and 73 (D. Southern 23: M. Johnson three for 22, Carrodous four for 8), outright.
