G. L. B. Cadets’ Competitions

The cadet section of Girls* Life Brigade held its annual divisional competitions on Saturday. These were competed for by the winners of each of the four battalions. The divisional chaplain (the Rev. L. N. Rawlings) spoke to the cadets. A section of the competition handwork was to be given to the Mission to Lepers, and Miss M. Titheridge showed a film on leper work. For the Handwork Cup, cadets aged 6 and 7 made wool winding gollywogs. Those aged 8 and 9 yean did an illustrated hymn for teaching purposes. Results for Handwork Cup were: 14th Christchurch i 41st Christchurch 2, flth and 23rd Christchurch (equal) 3. Drill Cup: 38th Christchurch 1, 20th Christchurch 2, 30th Christchurch 3.
