Ejected Pilot Killed

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONOLULU, Oct. 19. Two men were killed on Saturday in a bizarre accident aboard the aircraft carrier, Midway, sailing 30 miles west of the Hawaiian island of Lanai.

A Navy spokesman said a landing aircraft struck another plane being towed across the deck. The pilot of the plane being towed was ejected when the impact triggered the eject mechanism and he was killed instantly. Debris from the impact of the two planes injured a sailor who died on the way to hospital by helicopter.
