Ml' Clifton Daniel has been promoted managing editor of the “New York Times.” Other editorial changes include the appointment of Mr Turnar Catledge, formerly managing editor, to the newlyestablhshed office of executive editor, of Mr James Reston, the chfef Washington correspondemt, to associate editor; and of Mr Tom Wicker, to chief Washington correspondent.
