HAWKS WIN ROSE BOWL

Hawks won the Ashby Bergh rose bowl last night by beating Rangers by seven goals to two in an ice hockey match played at the Indoor Ice Rink. Although there is still one match to be played. Hawks have an unbeatable lead. The match was fast, and very even for the first period, with both sides making good passing moves. Hawks led two goals to one at the end of the period. Rangers started well tn the second period, and soon equalised, but shortly afterwards went to pieces, and Hawks scored four times In quick succession, mainly from the excellent feeding by defencemen J. van der Griend, who set up three of the goals. In the final period Hawks again did most of the attacking, but good defence kep’ them to one scoring shot. Scorers were:—Rangers: U Cooper, J. Hanning. Hawks: N Hole 3, M. Wickes 2. B. Offord 2, The referees were Messrs B. Lester and J. Brlzzell.
