No Seconder For Motion A motion that the Lyttelton Borough Council support the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council in its efforts to establish a tesidential home in Lyttelton street lapsed for the want of a seconder at a meeting of the borough council last evening.

Cr. G. E. Boyd moved that the council support the proposal, but when the DeputyMayor (Cr. R. H. Duff) called for a seconder, other councillors sat quiet. After the customary pause, he declared the motion lapsed. Cr. G. C. Adams then said he would have seconded it. Cr. Duff: The motion has lapsed. He added that for the council to give support would probably involve some financial aid. Without further discussion. Cr. E. A. Camfield moved that “the matter be looked into” by the health and sanitation committee. The motion was seconded by Cr. Boyd and carried.
