Kindergarten Meeting

Visitors from Westport, Timaru, Ashburton and Wigram were welcomed at the August council meeting of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, by its president (Mrs A. Steven). The Avonhead establishment committee had been affiliated to the association, Mrs Stevens reported. Mrs W. Yorke had filled the vacancy on the council left by the resignation of Mr W. Morris. The Edmonds Park committee was celebrating its twentyfifth anniversary.

Mrs M. Whiteford had resigned as the director of the Hillmorton kindergarten. Delegates from the regional area of free kindergartens within the district of the University of Canterbury, later attended an informal discussion session presided over by Mrs A. F. Johnson.
