Esterman Has One Loss The New Zealand represen- i tative in the Commonwealth individual correspondence chess championship. L. Esterman. of Christchurch. is doing well. He has won one game, is in a winning position in two others, and has had only one loss. The games between the 10 contestants are played sitnuitanetmsly, at the rate of 20 moves in CO days. Esterman’s declared win was against H. Camilleri, representing Malta. He lost to the correspondence chess grand master, L. Endzelins, the Australian representative His winning positions are against L Friedman (South Africa) and J. Le Guen (Mauritius). The other players in the tournament are A Siklos (Canada), F. M. Mansfield (Ireland), S. Milan (England), M. H. Sheikh (Pakistan), and M. P. Dossa '(lndia). Esterman’* games 'against these have not yet reached a point of marled I advantage to either aide.
