Trial Match On Sundav
The 38-year-old former England international, E. Taylor, has been selected for the “shadow” Canterbury team to play the second division representatives at Rangers Park on Sunday.
Taylor has been picked as inside-right. D. Simmonds, who was an emergency, was brought into ■the team at last night’s man- ! agement committee meeting iof the Canterbury Football ; Association when the selector of the Junior National Cup ; (under 18) team, Mr R. Storer, said he would like A. W. Gowans, his captain, for a practise game on Sunday. It was decided in Gowans’ case, the Junior National Cup team take preference. The match between the two senior teams is in the form of a practice for the Canterbury v. Nelson match, proposed to be held on August 1. However, the date of the match may now be changed because of it clashing with the South Island final of the Chatham Cup. The teams are:—
