Good Haul Of Tuna

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 20. Although local fishermen have had a lean time lately, the crews of two Japanese fishing boats at present in Auckland have taken consistently good hauls from the New Zealand continental shelf.

Working well outside the three-mile limit, one of the boats, the Koyo Maru No. 12, has taken more than 200 tons of tuna inside a month.

The average size of the tuna is between six and seven feet, according to one of the crew, Mr Yasutaka Ouchi, and about 120 pounds in weight. He said the largest fish caught was 12ft long.
