The production line is nearly half a mile long and consists of two moving floors, which are made up of cast-iron rafts which float on a film of oil. The time taken for the assembly of one lathe on the machine is 20 hours, and more than 100 centre lathes are produced in a week. The new factory is claimed to be the largest centre lathe factory in the western world.
