INQUIRY URGED
Withdrawal As Director ..“The Liberal Party of New Zealand, being now in possession of the facts of the recent enforced resignation of Mr R. C. Neville from the directorate of Coast Concrete, Ltd., feels gravely concerned at the tactics which were apparently adopted to secure Mr Neville’s withdrawal,” said Mr A. A. Mackintosh, chairman of the executive committee of the party, yesterday.
One of the Government’s most pressing problems was the rejuvenation of the West Coast, and the stifling of Coast Concrete, Ltd. would do great harm to the West Coast, Mr Mackintosh said. From inquiries it had made, the Liberal Party was convinced that the new venture would mean a very considerable boost to the one part of New Zealand which had been sorely neglected. In this case there was just cause for an examination under the Trade Practices Act, Mr Mackintosh said.
