Hostess for the evening was Miss Lois Bognuda, the wellknown violinist, who also gave two items. Other artists included Dr. J. J. Horan, of Ashburton, who played Beethoven's Sonata No. 1: Heather Taylor (soprano), Trevor Bremner (cornet), Alex Robson (bass); Pauline Drain (clarinet): the Liedertafel Quartet, led by Keith Newson; Wallace Woodley (piano). Accompanists were Helga Newson for several of the artists, Tony Reeve for Pauline Drain, Brian Sallon for Trevor Bremner, Mrs McEachon for Dr. Horan.
