Institute In Auckland
iIV.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, July 16.
The Auckland Technical Institute is to seek Government permission to show films and live educational matter after it begins an independent television transmission in about two months.
The Post Office has given the institute permission to operate its own television station, on an experimental basis. The station will have a range of from 12 to 25 miles, and a normal television set could receive its signals with the aid of a simple converter costing about £5. Setting up of the station is part of the institute’s training of television technicians.
