CASH FOR HUNGRY

Success In Southwark

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, June 30. During Lent Dr. Stockwood, the Bishop of Southwark, asked people in his diocese to cut out one meal on Fridays, and to send the money saved to a fund to help the hungry and homeless. Cash is still coming in—£12,209 so far. Through inter-church aid £5600 of the money has gone to starving refugees in West Bengal. It will help them improve their farming. And the South Bank Housing Society has been given £5600 to help homeless families in London find a place of their own. The money will be enough for 12 homes.
