At Worcester: Worcestershire beat Oxford University by an innings and 89 runs. Oxford University 205 and 153 (N. Gifford 7/43), Worcestershire 447/7 dec.

At Bradford: match drawn. Yorkshire 273 and 292 (F. Trueman 50, D. B. Close 100 not out); R. Harman 5/99), Surrey 358. Surrey two points. At Bristol: match drawn. Gloucestershire 285/9 dec. and 185/8 dec. (D. Allen 58 not out), Sussex 170 and 193/5. Gloucestershire two points. At Derby: match drawn. Lancashire 270 and 196/5 dec. (K. Grieves 66 not out), Derbyshire 291/4 dec. and 177/4 (I. Hall 80). Derbyshire two points. At Trent Bridge: match drawn. Nottinghamshire 242 and 211/5 dec. (N. Fletcher 75 not out). Essex 10 points,' Middlesex two. At Folkstone: Kent beat Cambridge University by three wickets. Cambridge University 255 and 256/5 dec. (J. Brearley 67, 3 Kerslake 65 not out), Kent 244/8 dec. and 268/7 (M. Cowdrey 70, J. Prodger 60). At Portsmouth: Leicestershire beat Hampshire by five wickets. Hampshire 327 and 186/4 dec., Leicestershire 277 and 237/5’ <G. Cross 78). Leicestershire 10 points, Hampshire two.

Tour Winner J. Anquetil, of France, won the ninth stage of the Tour de France cycle race yesterday. G- Grousskrd (France) retained his over-all lead.—(Monaco, July 1). Cycling Trial Entries have been received from 28 of New Zealand’s top cyclists for the 120-mile Olympic trial road race near Levin next Monday. . They include the national road champion, A. Ineson, the Auckland champion, R. D. Johnson, the Wellington champion, D. Thompson, and G. Landow and A. Baker, of Wairoa.— (P.A.)
