Raised £l000 For Plunket

A cheque for £lOOO was presented to the Christchurch branch of the Piunket Society by the chairman of the Christchurch Piunket Mothers' Clubs Council (Mrs E. L. Taylor) at the annual meeting of the council, The money was raised by the club's raffle and concert. Mrs Taylor presented the cheque to the president of i the Christchurch branch of the Piunket Society (Mrs N. M. Peryer). “I hope that this money will help to reduce your bank overdraft and prove an incentive to work with the thought that you will eventually be able to wipe out the overdraft and make it easier to meet your yearly commitments,” said Mrs Taylor.

“I am sure this will be a wonderful spur for the future work of the society," said Mrs Peryer accepting the cheque “I know and appreciate the amount of work you have all put into this. 1 speak not only for the society but also for the Karitane Hospital and the tremendous amount of work you do for them as weH,” she said.
