TAKING STERN MEASURES

Unruly Children At English Park

Stern measures with unruly children may have to be taken by the Canterbury Football Association if misbehaviour at English Park continues. The management committee of the assocaitlon was told by the secretaryr (Mr N. R. Dixon) that he had had to chase children away from the area behind the goals last Saturday.. Further trouble had been encountered In controlling children playing with the scoreboard numbers, added Mr T. C Gottermeyer. At one stage the board credited Rangers with 20 goals: they lost, 4-0.

Mr R. van der Monde said there had been no trouble with children at the start of the season. The reason for this, replied Mr R. Storer, was that they had to pay 6d admission; now they had schoolboys’ passes and could spend their 6d at the shop. "Then wipe the passes,” said Mr van der Monde.

The president (Mr J. Smith) said in future children would not be allowed in the stand unless accompanied by an adult. He asked committee members to watch developments in case stronger measures were needed.
