Sump “Source Of Danger”

(N.Z. Press Association)

INVERCARGILL, June 30. A verdict of death by accidental drowning was given at the inquest today into the death of Glen Arthur Henderson, aged four, by the District Coroner (Mr T. R. Pryde).. The boy was drowned in a 10ft deep waterhole on the roadside in Tramway road, Invercargill, on the morning of May 8. He had been playing with other children. “While it was not clear how the boy got into the hole, it is clear that this stormwater drainage sump, ill' protected as it was, was a potential source of danger," said the Coronet.
