Peak Profit And Div. Up

Dominion Breweries, Ltd., Auckland, has raised the dividend on the ordinary and preference shares from 10 per cent to 11 per cent for the year ended March 31.

Consolidated net profit for the year rose by £76,084 to a new peak of £519,421, representing an increase of 17.2 per cent on 1963. It was reached after provision of £548,592 for tax, against £501,697 last year, and depreciation of £260,641, a rise of £23,192. The figures were contained in a preliminary statement released this evening. In 1963, increased provision for depreciation following a rise of £535,000 in fixed assets reduced group net profit by 4 per cent. The final dividend of 6 per cent on all shares will be payable on July 29, shares becoming ex dividend on July 20.

Bid Made For H. Hardware (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 30. Directors of the Hamilton Hardware Company, Ltd., have announced that they have received from C. and A. Odlin Timber and Hardware Company, Ltd., notice of its intention to make an offer for all the shares in the company on the basis of two 10s fully paid C. and A. Odlin ordinary shares for each 20s Hamilton Hardware ordinary share. Directors have considered, the terms of the proposed offer, intend to accept it for their holdings, and recommend Hamilton Hardware to accept.

Lane’s Dividend.—Lanes Industries, Ltd., Levin, hosiery manufacturers, directors recommended final dividend of 6 per cent for the half year to March 31, 1964, payable July 21 next. Books close July 13-21, both dates inclusive; ex dividend July 13.—(P. A.).

Truth.—Truth N.Z., Ltd., recommend a final dividend of 8 per cent on ordinary and B shares making 12 per cent for the year and 3} per cent on participating preference shares making 6 per cent for the year. —(P.A.)
