(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copgrlghl) MONTEVIDEO (Uruguay), June 30. Uruguayan proposals for a meeting of beef-producing countries to consider the American drive to include beef among its exportable farm surplus has found support in Argentina. Both in Argentina and Uruguay a recent trial shipment of American beef to Britain was sharply criticised by newspapers. The United Kingdom is a traditional prime market for Argentine and Uruguayan meat
Uruguay is sounding out New Zealand and Australia with a view to a conference “to preserve their traditional meat markets,” a Uruguayan high official said.
