GERALDINE MEETING

Riccarton Support Disappointing

A disappointing lack of support from “most of the Riccarton owners and trainers” at the club’s second race meeting is mentioned by the chairman, Mr J. J. Crotty, in his report which will be presented at the annual meeting of the Geraldine Racing Club on June 9.

Had it not been for strong support from Wingatui, says Mr Crotty, in addition to loyal support from local owners and trainers the position would have been serious.

The report says that the first meeting had provided a popular day's sport and with an excellent off-course turnover, the day was quite profitable.

The club’s profit and loss account shows a profit of £ll3 on the year’s working after allowing £127 for depreciation.
