THOMSON JOURNALS

Shares For Staffs (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, May 28. Lord Thomson, the Cana-dian-born newspaper magnate, said yesterday that the future growth of the Thomson organisation would be phenomenal. Speaking at a dinner here given him by London employees of the organisation to celebrate his elevation to the peerage, Lord Thomson said the four and a half years since he entered the London newspaper world had been the happiest of his life. “We have made a tremendous amount of progress,” he said,” and I am glad to say it has been on the basis of quality publications. We have no muck-raking journals,” Lord Thomson also announced a new plan for employees to buy shares in the organisation, which comprises over 100 newspapers across the world, and thereby to gain from its growth.
