U.S. SUPPORT FOR CHIANG
Economic Aid To Cease (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, May 28. The United States today announced the termination of American economic assistance to Nationalist China after June, 1965, but said military aid to the Nationalist forces will be continued. The termination of American grants and long-term de-elopment loans to President Chiang-Kai-Shek’s Government is made possible because of the healthy economic growth of Nationalist China, said an official. The State Department said that the United States will continue the sale of surplus agricultural commodities under the Food for Peace programme.
