Drowned In Pool

A three-year-old boy was drowned in a pool at Islington yesterday morning. He was: Mark James Black, son of Mr and Mrs J. G. Black, of 6 Matangi street, Islington.

The child was found face down in the water. A doctor and ambulance were summoned. Attempts at recuscitation were made, but the child was found to be dead before the ambulance arrived. An inquest into the child’s death was opened before the Christchurch Coroner (Mr A. T Bell) yesterday afternoon and adjourned sine die after evidence of identification had been given.
