Tour Of West Coast (N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 2. A survey of tourist facilities on the new West CoastHaast Pass road will commence next-'week, the Travel and Holidays’ Association announced today. The survey will include a study of problems and potentials in accommodation, comunications, sightseeing, sports, transport and such facilities as rest stops and camping places which will be required when the road opens towards the end of next year. As well as members of the association, which is sponsoring the survey, the touring party will include representatives of the Tourist Department, Lands and Survey Department, Railway Road Services, Hotel Association, Motel Federation, South Island Local Bodies' Association, South Island Publicity Association, Westland County and Westland Progress League.

The party will leave Wellington on Monday and visit Nelson, Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, Lake Kaniere, Franz Josef, Fox Glacier, Haast, Hawea, Mount Cook and Christchurch, returning to Wellington on Friday.
