INVERCARGILL, April 2. Captain B. Antill landed a Tourist Air Travel amphibian at West Arm in the dark tonight and took off with a patient for Southland Hospital, Kew. Fifteen minutes after leaving Te Anau, Captain Antill landed at 'West Arm and loaded a 36-year-old worker who had swallowed a partial plate of dentures. At 8.5 p.m. the plane arrived at the Invercargill airport and the man, suffering from stomach pains, was transferred to an ambulance and taken to hospital. Captain Antill said he received news of the ac-
cident at 6.40 p.m. and had the aircraft refuelled before he left for West Arm. Although it was dark, the pilot said that it was no trouble to land. “The lights at West Arm are like a little settlement,” he said, “and I navigated the plane down. “In two minutes, the patient, who refused to be accompanied by an attendant, was aboard and we took off. “I couldn’t have had a better passenger. He sat there nice and quiet The flight was made under ideal conditions and was very smooth.”
