BYRNE, Secretary. 9379 CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD DRAINAGE LOAN 1964 £70,000 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Christchurch Drainage Board called for that purpose and held at the Office of the North Canterbury Catchment Board in the City of Christchurch on the 17th day of March, 1964, the said Board DID RESOLVE: THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1951, the Local Authorities Loans Act, 1956 and all amendments thereto and all other Acts, if any, it in that behalf enabling, and by virtue of. the sanction of the Local Authorities Loans Board granted at a meeting of that Board held on the eleventh day of Fabruary, 1964, the CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD at a Special Meeting called for that purpose and held at the office of the North Canterbury Catchment Board in the City of Christchurch on the seventeenth day of March, 1964, DOTH RESOLVE by way of Special Order: 1. THAT the Christchurch Drainage Board proceed to raise a loan of seventy thousand pounds (£70,000) for the purpose of undertaking drainage works in the Heathcote County. 2. THAT such loan be known as Drainage Loan 1964 and hereinafter be called the said loan. 3. THAT the term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be thirty-five years. 4. THAT the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate or rates exceeding five and one quarter per cent per annum. 5. THAT the Christchurch Drainage Board shall, before raising the said loan or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund and shall make annual payments to such sinking fund at a rate of not less than one pound five shillings and tenpence per cent per annum of the amount of the loan for the time being borrowed and not repaid. 6. THAT the payment of interest and repayment of principal in respect- of the said loan shall be made in New Zealand, and no amount payable as either interest or sinking fund in respect of the said loan shall be paid out of loan money. 7. THAT the rate payable for brokerage in respect of the raising of the said loan or any part thereof shall not exceed one-half per cent of any amount raised. 8. THAT no money shall be borrowed under the aforementioned sanction after the expiration of three years from the date thereof. 9. THAT the security for the said loan to provide for the annual charges thereon be a special rate of £.00002088 In the pound to be levied on the capital rateable value of the Board’s Land Drainage Area, as described in a resolution of the Board dated the twenty-second day of May, 1952 and as altered from time to time by Resolution of the Board under Section 59 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1951. AND NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the foregoing Resolution will be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Board to be held at the Office of the North Canterbury Catchment Board.
