THREE SETS OF TWINS SUFFICE
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, April 1. A woman who has had three sets of twins in three and a half years is to have an operation to prevent her having any more babies, the “Daily Mirror” reported. Her husband, Bob Robinson, aged 27, said: “It seems that Linda and I can’t have children one at a time like most couples. “They come along in pairs —and six babies in three and a half years is enough for anyone.” Bob, a £l2-a-week joiner, of Dinnington village, Northumberland, added: “My wife talked to the doctors about the problems of always having twins. “They told her that, if I consented, she would be able to have an operation to stop her having any more babies.
We both gave our permission. I am sure we won’t ever regret it. We have six lovely children now, and that should be enough for any family.” Bob and Linda, aged 25, who married seven years ago, had their first child —a boy, named Alan—two years later.
A British Medical Association spokesman said that the operation could be carried out under the National Health Service. “It seems a drastic step for a young mother to take,” the spokesman said.
