Tower Top Crashes

(N Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 2. Three men, including a television cameraman, were on the Patea water tower when the top of it crashed this afternoon. They scrambled down a ladder and were not hurt. They are Messrs 1. Johnson and N. Stuzaker, of Hawera, md A. Hall, of Patea, the cameraman. They were standing on supports near the top. The 120 ft tower is being demolished. The whole tower appeared likely to go when the big concrete top, built to hold 75,000 gallons, pivoted and fell.
