Directorship For Mr Murdoch

WELLINGTON, Mar. 19. One of the tenni of the agreement between News, Ltd., and the “Dominion” provides that the manag-ing-director of News, Ltd., Mr K. R. Murdoch, will be invited to join the existing board of directors. A spokesman for the Wellington Publishing Company said later today that no arrangements have yet been made for a special meeting of shareholders to consider Mr Murdoch’s election to the
board, which at present comprises seven directors. “There is provision for more than the present number of directors if approved by a special meeting of shareholders,” he said. There were no immediate plans for Mr Murdoch to come to New Zealand, said Mr G. H. A. Swan, legal representative for the company in Wellington, today.
