Farmers Fear Effects CN.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, March 15. The recent holiday increase for State servants would have serious effects on the fanner, according to Mr R. Cheer, at yesterday’s meeting of the Hawke’s Bay provincial executive of Federated Farmers. Mr Cheer said farmers were short of labour, and the holiday increase would be more attractive than ever to civil servants. “On the one hand, the Government is asking for more production and, on the other hand, they are making it practically impossible for us to do so,” said Mr Cheer.
