A blustery wind early in the evening and a sharp drop in temperature affected the attendance on the first night of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Easter meeting at Addington Raceway on Saturday. In the circumstances the attendance of 8200 was most satisfactory and well above the 5300 at the corresponding day meeting 12 months ago. Totalisator investments oncourse amounted to £77,150 10s, including £6886 10s on the double, compared with £67,950 10s last year. The off-course turn-over was not as good as expected. This amounted to £89,252 ss, including £42,300 15s on the double, compared with £61,652 10s last year.
