CHIEF JUSTICE’S WIFE DIES

(N.Z. Prtu Association) WELLINGTON, March 12. The death occurred today of Lady Barrowclough, wife of the Chief Justice (Sir Harold Barrowclough), in Wellington. Sir Harold Barrowclough left Palmerston North hurriedly this morning to return to Wellington when his wife was reported to have had a heart attack. Lady Barrowclough was the former Miss Mary Duthie. She was born in Otago, and educated at Balclutha High School and Otago Girls’ High School, where two of her classmates were Lady Berendsen and Lady Tyndall. She graduated B.A at Otago University. Lady Barrowclough married in 1921 and lived in Dunedin till 1932, when the family ■went to Auckland. She came to Wellington in 1954 when her husband was appointed Chief Justice.
