£27,250 FOR HOTEL
The Plough, At Rangiora The Plough Hotel, on seven aeres, one rood, 37 perches in High street, Rangiora, was soM to Mr D. Corbett for £27,250 at public auction yesterday. More than 70 persons attended the sale, which was held by George Anderson and Son on account of Mrs E. M Cottier. After accepting an opening bid of £20,000 the auctioneer, Mr J. Dyer, took six bids of £lOOO, two of £5OO, and one of £250. A wooden building, the hotel has nine bedrooms, dining room, sitting room, kitchen and two bars. A block of four motels with an A.A. four-star grading at 102 Springfield road, St. Albans, was passed in at £13,000. The auctioneer was Mr E. G. Keenan. The motels, which are built of brick, are on a section of one rood, 18.6 perches. Offered on acount of the estate of Sarah Jane Williams, a bungalow at 81 St. Martins road was passed in at £3600. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. The house has two bedrooms, hall, lounge, dinette, kitchenette, bathroom, and laundry. There are also a detached bedroom and a garage on the section of 27.1 perches.
