Fifth Prize Innovation

The Wellington Trotting Club will provide fifth prizes of £lO for all events at its two-day meeting next month and will increase the stakes distributed at the meeting from £8250 to £9960. Two feature races at the meeting will be a £llOO free-for-all for trotters on the first night and a £ 1050 invitation race for trotters on the second night. In addition, there will be a £lOOO invitation race for pacers on the first night and a £5OO race for two-year-olds. Classes in other events will be tightened. The addition of a fifth prize will mean that in ail races the judge will have to place six horses.
