Slight Easing Last Year (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. March 12. Net profit of Macßobertson (Australia), Ltd., confectionery manufacturer, eased slightly from £274,917 to £258.847 in the year to December 31 last, in spite of improved turn-over. Announcing the profit, the directors said sales for the period were the highest in the company’s history. . Margins Lower However, increased costs of selling and distribution in a highly competitive market had resulted in lower profit margins. Ordinary dividend has been held at 10 per cent with a final 6 per cent, payable on April 10. The latest profit was struck after lower provisions for both tax and depreciation. Tax took £119.987 against £159,641 a year ago. Depreciation was down from £184,489 to £175,393.
