In a secret ballot held this week by the Lyttelton Waterside Workers' Union on the recommendation of its executive, members voted by 541 to 123 for affiliation with the North Island (N.Z.) Waterside Workers’ Federation. The ballot followed unsuccessful efforts by the Lyttelton union to help form a national federation of waterside workers.

Cox, who has been a circuit supervisor for Jehovah’s Witnesses in the North Island for two years, has arrived in Christcnurcn io -x circuit supervisor in the northern half of the South Island. He replaces Mr J. V. Willis who has been appointed circuit supervisor south of the Rakaia river.
