FIRST OIL CARGO

50,000 Tons For Refinery (N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Jan. 17. The New Zealand Refining Company, Ltd., expects the tanker Mobil Enterprise to berth at Mairsden Point on February 24 with the first cargo of 50,000 tons of crude oil from the Middle East for the Whangarei refinery. The general manager of the company (Mr J. Carney) said today that the company expected to receive on board the Jarena a consignment of about 3000 tons of marine diesel fuel at Marsden point on February 2. This was to be used for burning in the furnace to dry out the brickwork, and to raise steam to start up the refinery.
