Flashing Sign In Sky
A flashing sign below an aircraft above Christchurch last evening caused three men to telephone "The Press” and report a strange object in the sky. Mr R. F. Short, manager of the Canterbury Aero Club, said the object was an aircraft with an illuminated sign advertising an oil product suspended beneath it. Mr Short said he thought the lighting was controlled from the cockpit. He also thought it was let out after the aircraft took off and taken in before landing.
