Pay Rise For Preservers
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. Pay increases of up to 10s lOd a week are included in an award issued by the Court of Arbitration for Taranaki, Wellington (except Hawke's Bay), Marlborough, Nelson, and Canterbury food preserving employees. The award, which ratifies a conciliation agreement, provides for a top rate, after six months’ continuous service, of £l3 6s 3d a week. Increases for female workers range from 4s 6d to 5s a week, and there is a 4|d an hour increase for skinning, filletting or boning raw fish.
