ELECTORAL ROLLS
Closure At
6 p.m. Today
Many persons still have not enrolled on the supplementary electoral rolls, which close at 6 p.m. today The local Registrar of Electors (Mr J. Miller) said yesterday that enrolment cards received by mall at noon tomorrow, however, would be considered to have arrived on time Persons not on the main or supplementary rolls might be disqualified from voting at next month’s elections, he said.
“One exception will be those who have already qualified in the month before the supplementary roll closes and those who qualify before the elections.” he said. This group of 21-year-olds and other late qualifiers must register as electors by November 29.
“Those whose birthdays tall on November 30 are considered to be legally 21 on November 29. which enables them to register on the day before the elections.
"Anyone who is 21 on November 30 and does not register the previous day is entitled to vote, but his vote will not be valid. No vote is valid without enrolment,” said Mr Miller.
